Round One: Secrets

Information, secrets, and lies that the characters would rather keep to themselves. During the game these were only revealed when a character was asked.

Dr. Alice Brandon

The novel that made you famous also made you a social outcast in Los Angeles. Your fictional novel about a celebrity murder was assumed by some to be based on fact—facts you were told by your celebrity patients.

As rumors of your sources surfaced, your career plunged. Celebrity clients found new psychiatrists, and you had no work, and no famous friends. Invitations stopped arriving. You were blacklisted and blackballed, and feel that you had no choice but to move and start over.

Your husband, Mike, is usually away on endless buying trips, the pressures of social climbing alone can be too much. You like to find relief in the arms of the hot hired hand next door. But he is not the only one you have had an affair with.

You fell in love with Carlisle Cullen before he died. He loved you too. He had promised to leave Esme for you, but when she discovered your affair and confronted Carlisle, he felt ashamed. He recommitted to Esme, deciding to make their marriage work. He died only days later…

Edward Masen

You did NOT drop out of Dartmouth. You were kicked out of school after being arrested for selling drugs, your own special brand of heroin, to an undercover police officer. You spent only a little time in prison, but it was enough for your family to disown you. With nobody to turn to, you headed out west—everyone heads out west eventually—to make a name for yourself and show your father, a prominent lawyer back home, that you ARE somebody.

You enjoy your new lifestyle with an easy job, room and board, and a free education. But addiction is your vice, and you cannot escape the lure of drugs. You still indulge frequently. You even grow your own marijuana crop down near the barn by the lake.

You are writing a paper on the history of Forks for an English class. Since Bella is an amateur historian, you have worked out a deal—she does the research that you need, and you keep her company on lonely nights. It works out great, especially when you can manage to lock her nasty dog, Jacob, out of her bedroom.

Bella is not the only one with whom you are having an affair. While Bella does your homework, you are free for other pleasurable pursuits. The psychiatrist next door seems to like to play when her husband is away. You have been in her bedroom on more than one occasion.

Bella Swan

Edward, the laborer at Volturi Vineyards, is writing a paper on the history of Forks for his college English course. He came to you one day and worked out a deal—you do the research he needs, and he keeps you company on lonely nights. He is beautiful, and you are single. In the back of your mind, though, you know he is only using you, and your dog hates him.

As you dug deeper into the history of Forks, you uncovered an interesting story about the original owner of Volturi Vineyards, Aro Volturi, discovered a vein of gold on the property. With a little more research using Google, and old maps, you are sure that Aro Volturi died before mining the gold, and the treasure must still be on the land. You hatched a scheme for your nephew, who is in real estate, come and buy the vineyard from Esme, and sell it to you for a small profit. He doesn't need to know about any gold or treasure, but him purchasing the property will keep your name out of it.

You love Esme, but the thought of such a great deal of money and a more exciting life away from this small rainy town is tempting.

Jasper Whitlock

You are not Jasper Whitlock, Land Developer. You are Jasper Whitlock, junior executive trainee at a real estate brokerage firm in New York City. You do not have millions of dollars, but you are charismatic and can easily convince others that you are made of money.

You have never been to Washington before, which is exactly why your Aunt Bella Swan insisted you come now.

You know that she is crazy, and she wouldn't give you the exact details, but she told you that there would be a lot of money in it for you if you could get Esme Cullen to sell her vineyard to you—and you sell it in turn to your aunt.

Bella insisted that you keep her identity and your relationship to her a secret. But Why?

Emmett Cullen

You feel trapped in your current life. You married Rosalie so young. You and Esme actually dated first, but she was a virgin and wouldn't let you touch her. She was essentially frigid. Rosalie was quite different, she exuded sexuality. It wasn't long before Rosalie seduced you. After she became pregnant you eloped, and have been with her ever since. She lost the baby, but you were stuck. You know that when Rosalie stole you from Esme it tore the sisters apart, and they haven't spoken since.

You always carry your binoculars to look at birds, but they are useful for so much more. You and Rosalie are not affectionate at all anymore, so you have to get your thrills wherever you can. Sometimes you're just a voyeur, sometimes you have an affair, and you're open to any sexual opportunity.

This vacation isn't actually a vacation at all. You are on administrative leave, suspended, from your job for sexually harassing a co-worker. To make matters worse, you have been skimming money from your firm, burying withdrawals in various transactions. Rosalie lives way beyond your means, and you have to keep up.

You have hidden the sexual harassment lawsuit and your embezzlement from Rosalie. You did have to tell her about your financial shortfall when you had to sell your home to try to cover your tracks at work. You told her you had a gambling problem, debts in Atlantic City, so she understood. But the profit from liquidating your assets wasn't enough, even after returning most of the money to your company, you still owe. Times are getting desperate.

You hope that Esme will give you a loan to help you through the next couple of months, until you can figure out a way out of this mess. Who knows, maybe she will fall in love with you again.

Rosalie Hale

Esme hasn't spoken to you in years, ever since you stole her high school boyfriend, Emmett. You hated the fact that she was in love with him, and stopped spending time with you. At age 18 you got pregnant and eloped with Emmett, but lost the baby. You don't love him, but with no college education, and little marketable skills, you are trapped. Emmett is an insecure loser with a gambling problem, owing money to some very powerful and scary people. You have a plan to get out of this situation though, and have decided to reconnect with Esme and tell her that Emmett is physically abusive to you. Hopefully she will support you financially, allowing you to dump Emmett and move out on your own. Maybe you could even be an actress, or get your own talk show!

Keep in mind, each of the characters are written as instructions and information for game play. Each player received a booklet with their own information, so they could build their backstory in the game.
